Even Mac users need protection. I use the free Clam XAV and some other things. I love Mac, but to run it protection free, especially if you have BootCamp or Parallels and Windows installed, is just silly.

I really love the fact that I don't have to worry about Malware on my Mac. Its one of the reasons I left the Windows world. I never really had a problem with it before, but I was one of those super careful users.

One thing that worries me is if a huge exploit is released for OS X. With the majority of Mac users not having virus protection it could get pretty nasty. Almost worse than the loss to the users would be the loss to Apple themselves. They would no longer be considered to own the 'perfect' OS. Also, the anti-Mac community would never let us forget about the one time our systems were hijacked.
