Mac Rumors and Reports
I don’t focus on the Apple “breaking rumors” style of blogging. I get emails about it, asking me why not. A large part of the reason is that a ton of other bloggers, like Think Secret and MacRumors, do focus on it. They not only focus on it, they have been focusing on it for years. They are good at it. It’s their niche.
I love all things Apple, but the breaking rumor bandwagon is not my niche. You won’t see breaking rumors and Apple gossip here very often. It has to be something that really gets my attention, or excites me, to get one of the many Apple speculation stories posted here. I try hard to write op-ed pieces about Apple, product reviews, and breaking news (as opposed to breaking gossip) whenever possible - that’s my niche.
That said, there were a couple of good blips on the Mac rumors radar today that I just had to share, gossip or not:
First, I bring you Alan Graham’s piece on .Mac’s untimely demise. He doesn’t think he is getting value for his money (and I must agree with him on this one - I am not a .Mac user), and he thinks that unless apple spends more time on .Mac it won’t last. Full article here.
Next, read why not everyone is getting an iPhone. (and while I totally agree with these reasons… I still want one.) Full article here.
Also, Apple seems to have patented a revolutionary new protective device for mp3 players, laptop computers and other portable devices that will protect them just by “sensing” the world around them. Cool. Full article here.
And of course we close with the ubiquitous two conflicting rumors, updated daily eveywhere; “Leopeard and iPhone are delayed!” “zOMG LOLz iPhone and Leopard not delayed”. <insert only mildly sarcastic eye roll here>

I do have a .Mac account, and I find it to be an excellent feature. for $100 a year, it is worth every penny to me. However, it is only beneficial if you learn HOW TO use all of the features. (take a training class, they are free when you have procare) I for one love to make silly home movies in imove, but once I uploaded a movie to any video host,(like youtube) the movie quality was ruined by the compression. Therefore, my .MAC account hosts all of my own videos,on my own website, with clear, crips images, and better sound quality to boot.
not to mention the 75 zillon other features .Mac accounts provide, (that is just mt favorite part)
As for apple phone, I am waiting a year until the “kinks” get worked out.
The apple TV is currently in my possesion, and I will be playing with that all weekend!
